Citizenship by Marriage may include a few additional requirements, such as basic competence of the Italian language and a BCI check, both of which we are equip to navigate you through successfully.

If you're not sure if you qualify- that's OK. That's what we are here for! We are versed in genealogy and can help navigate archived documents and ancestry information to identify the timeline of your ancestor's US immigration and citizenships and evaluate the Italian line from your family.
If your ancestor Naturalized in the United States, you may still be eligible if it was AFTER the birth of the descendants in your line. However, if they naturalized BEFORE giving birth to your parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc, then they cut off the Italian blood line and it did not pass down.
Women were unable to pass down Italian citizenship until 1948. Thus, if your line includes a woman and her child was born AFTER 1948, you are eligible. However, for lines born before 1948, it can be trickier and may require going through the paternal line or special help from a lawyer in Italy who can file a "1948" case to help you get your citizenship through a woman.

On March 28, 2025, The Italian Government set forth a decree limiting the generations that can claim Italian Citizenship through descent.
Now, Citizenship through descent can only be obtained through those with parents or grandparents born in Italy- the limit is 2 generations.
However, just because you have a parent or grandparent born in Italy does not mean you automatically qualify for Citizenship through descent, however you may be eligible for expedited Citizenship through Residency.
Currently, any cases further than 2 generations back that were not filed before the March 28th deadline, are barred by the generation limit.

Even if your Ancestor Naturalized, or you never had an Italian line to begin with, there ARE alternate ways to obtain Italian Citizenship.
If you are looking to become an Italian citizenship and spend extended time in Italy, there is an option to obtain Citizenship through Residency. First, becoming a resident has additional requirements, such as spending a certain amount of months per year in Italy.
Once you have established residency for the time period required based on your ancestry, you may also be required to pass a test for basic knowledge of the Italian Language.

Unfortunately, there are not enough Italian Consulates in the United States to serve the amount of Italians who need services. That's why we have decided to connect our services with Lawyers in Italy who are able to file the case directly with the Italian government. You are able to do so because, the inaccessibility of the Consulates in the United States is unjustly restricting you from obtaining the right to Citizenship which you are lawfully and legally entitled to through birth. This avenue now accelerates the process of waiting for Dual Citizenship without waiting for to obtain citizenship through an appointment at the Consulate.
In the US, you can only be serviced at the Consulate which has jurisdiction over where you legally reside. There are 10 Italian consulates in the United States-- Washington, Miami, New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Detroit.
The Boston Consulate serves: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
